We believe our designs should make a difference and we see each project as a positive contribution in making our future living environment a better place. With a collective drive, we can tilt the balance of our adverse human impact and instead strive to interlock ourselves into our global Gaia eco-system.

An integrated design approach completes our philosophy by merging the borders between architecture, interior and product design. This deep understanding informs our holistic design and unfolding process while searching for the most optimum solution that’s appropriate to each client’s brief. While various disciplines contribute to a design solution, ambigram’s strong creative team ensure that the final result excels expectations in a cohesive manner.

We also acknowledge that we have a public and environmental responsibility that goes beyond our immediate client’s brief; that every potential viewer or user maybe a ‘client’ as a piece of architecture has the potential to impact anyone. Armed with this responsibility we aim to make a difference both in quality and impact.

We design site specific architecture for excellence, we aim to create functional, beautiful spaces that are efficient and enhance people’s experience of a place, whether they are to live, work or play in. It is not about the object; it is about the life that goes on within it and around it.

Each project is approached with fresh enthusiasm and a desire to share, improve and contribute regardless of scale. We start off with a clean slate, drawing inspiration from the historical site context and identity of a place with the understanding of the potential within a future context as required by the client’s brief.

Our ultimate goal is not only to fulfil our client’s requirements or the end-user’s experience but to implement thought processes throughout our design process to enhance and improve the scheme. The aim is for the final product to exceed expectations product – both in terms of completion but also in terms of the eventual end-user experience. All this creates a cultural ecosystem that can support and enhance the local community.

Our method of working is based on a collaborative decision-making design process which means that we value the input of all team members to assist in delivering a successful and holistic project.

We deploy various means to effectively communicate and explain our designs such as 3D printed models, CGI visualisations, VR animations and 3D design tools. All these are important tools in communicating the unfolding design process particularly to the main contractor to ensure that the end result translates smoothly and as closely to the design vision as possible.

In terms of the environment, we drive a sustainable & durable building approach and we support resource efficiency, carbon-neutral or carbon negative techniques in our projects. We focus on the impact that our designs and our operations may have on carbon emissions, and how we as a business can make a positive impact collectively.

The practice is committed to creating transformative spatial experiences through the exploration of site context, typology, materiality, and user movement. Whilst our practice is involved with several building types in terms of scale and complexity; we ardently explore the frontiers of design through an insatiable interest in the making of space through careful detailing, interior architecture and product design.
